



In this study, Mashgin audited 1,167 completed transactions across major sports stadiums and found that Mashgin’s loss rate ranged from 1.29% to 1.30%, below the 1.62% industry average reported by the NRF. The technology helps deter theft through visible video recording at checkout and by reducing long wait times, which are widely recognized as a major driver of opportunistic shoplifting.
We audited video of 1,167 completed transactions in major sports stadiums that use Mashgin to identify theft. In other words, our team manually watched all of these transactions from start to finish to analyze customer actions and behavior.
